Re:Flyers in papers - 12:08 26 Sep 06 We really are good at drifting off topic.

As long as it is not going to upset Mitchell's mate's employer, then yes.

Re:Flyers in papers - 12:11 26 Sep 06 I would not have thought that this contravenes the mailing preference service, as it is not sent by mail. Even people registered for MPS will surely still receive the door to door leaflets dropped through the letterbox for pizzas, garden work, driveways, missing cats etc.

So if it is illegal (and I don't think it is), then we should not do it.

However if it's legal, free, and we might pick up the odd interested party, then why not do it. I would add that I don't like the junk that comes through my letterbox either, but I do usually scan it to see if I might be missing something before dumping it.

Re:Flyers in papers - 19:28 26 Sep 06 surley that MPS thing is for stuff the reciever has to register to, as in, ' you have won a free holiday! fill in your name and address with contact details to claim your prize' is going to course concern over ' come to our open day, we are trying to make your county a better place to live in'

A leaflet handed out by a paper boy is hardly going to taken to a smalls claims court, legal or not, but that mailing system thing (MPS or wht ever it was) must have a policy for leaflets concerning the community, as posting a village fete leaflet through the door is something that anyone living in a traditional village is going to have to put up with, MPS or not, so i do not see how this is any different...
