Free Skate Instructors Training - 21:46 30 Mar 09 Now that the Camberley Skaters Association has money we would like to start sponsoring the advancement of skaters within Camberley starting by "training the trainer" to advance the skills of people that can then go on to help other skaters.

As such we agreed in the last Cskate meeting that the Camberley Skaters Association would be happy to pay the course fees for a volunteer who is committed to skating.

ICP Federation skate instructor courses are recognised nationally at levels 1-3. Courses cost around £200 (Payable by Cskate) and involves 2.5 days over a weekend (Fri eve through Sun eve). Courses are every 5 months or so.

The next ICP courses are in 8th - 10th May 2009 run by Skatefresh in London. Please contact myself on here, via PM or in person if you would like to take up this offer either now or at any time in the future.

Re:Free Skate Instructors Training - 12:57 03 Apr 09 I'm currently sorting out with Skatefresh a place on the course for myself, but theres also the possibility some one else could come along in May, if theres anyone else interested??

It does require you to attend a preliminary skills assessment course, taking place tomorrow (4th) however I cant make this date and am hoping to do this on Friday 10th April.

So please get in touch with dogsbody if you are interested!

Re:Free Skate Instructors Training - 04:53 04 Apr 09 Hi all, I'm currently in a hotel in Arizona, and its been snowing outside!

I'd love to do the course and get into teaching - I've been interested in doing it for a while now. I'm not back home for a couple of weeks yet so I'll look into it and get in touch when I get back.

Would like to get the 'official' label (even though I did teach at arena for quite a while without an official qualification - we used to have our own thing with the artistic club when Dennis Hill helped run the arena sessions).

well i'd say go for it, you learn alot about things you take for granted as a skater, and it helps improve your own skills too, Asha's a great instructor and a couple of days spent in Hyde Park is always worth it!

Re:Free ICP1 Skate Instructors Training - 11:05 06 Aug 09 So... we unfortunately didnt manage to get anyone from CSkate onto the April/May just gone but below are details of the next course at the end of Oct.

As before, we are looking to get some CSkate people to be ICP1 skate instructor qualified. If you regularly attend sessions and events and are interested then PM me or dogsbody.

Details of the course, from Asha:
A new date for the autumn ICP instructor certification course has been set. The weekend course will be from Friday 30th Oct (evening only) to Sunday 1st November. The course will be held in Hyde Park in London. The weekend course costs £185.
The preparation skills session which is compulsory is 1 month before on Saturday 3rd October from 10am – 12.30pm. This costs £25.

A couple of people who showed interest in this may have missed my forum post earlier this month.... So a reminder if you are interested the important dates are:
