BoardFree UK Update - 11:09 19 May 06
On April 30th Brit Dave Cornthwaite set off from John o’Groats on a long skateboard. 18 days later he is 550 miles down the road towards Land’s End with a whole lot of blisters to show for it!
Dave started skating in March 2005, and on May 10th 2006 he became the first person to skate the length of Scotland, crossing the border just south of Springfield!
Dave is skating in aid of three children’s charities; Link Community Development, the Lowe Syndrome Trust and Sailability Australia. The generosity of the British public during this UK warm up journey has seen funds raised top the £2000 mark. Dave aims to raise £50,000 this year, and will head to Australia in August to target the world distance record on a skateboard.
Please follow Dave’s progress through the UK and Australia on www.boardfree.co.uk, photos, blogs and video diaries are uploaded most days.
