Sorry Drakey didn't answer your question. The surface was fairly smooth, rougher than Serp road but less fearsome than the cycle path over the other side of the beach.
it's slightly uphill oneside and slightly downhill the other (good chance to practice speed and stopping  ).
I think we skated for about an hour - but that included skates on and off, and 2 water stops for the old girl (me).
