Re:Le Mans - Drivers - 08:53 06 Jun 06 Myself and David are looking at transport.

We have a car, but can join another if needs be. We are both insured.

Plan is leave on a Friday, Campsite, then back on Monday. 2 possible routes.

One. (Long ferry short drive.)
Portsmouth Caen/Le Harve. Overnight crossing with cabin, then 2-3 hours down via Alencon to Le Mans, back on Monday. Ferry is about 80 each with 4 people, fuel on top of that.

Two. (Long drive short train)
London-Dover, Tunnel, bit of a drive, Formula 1 or Ibis then drive rest of the way to Le Mans, return in slow time on Monday, leaving mid morning. Tunnel is between 40 to 65 dependent on travel time between 4.

The car does about 40 to the gallon.

Any takers? Or anyone need two more to make a car pay?

I'm happy to pick up/arrive in random bits of Hampshire

Re:Le Mans - Drivers - 11:54 06 Jun 06 I think we are all sorted thank you Peter, we are all going down in convoy and already have our Ferries, cars and hotel (for sunday night) all booked as we managed to get some discount booking in bulk.

Sorry, good luck with the search (you'll have plenty of takers on SR although it does mean a London collection!). We'll see you there

Feel so much better for a skate tonight, still can't talk but enough energy to go back to work tomorrow

Lidls from the 15th June are selling a Magnetic GB plate for £1.99. I know drivers have to have one for France. I\'ll NEVER post on the forums

Car insurance, you just need to keep it in your glove box incase you get pulled over

Holiday insurance, please photocopy and give to me so I have a record if you get carted off to hospital
