places to train - 13:18 31 May 07 I live in Southampton, which is not ideally suited to rollerblading practice, anyone got any (useful) suggestions, of where I could train for the Goodwood Marathon??

Re:places to train - 13:27 31 May 07 Not familiar with down there - I've heard Bournemouth sea front is OK, but that's still quite a trip. I'd recommend asking on serpentineroad.com - they have a lot of knowledge about various places.

Otherwise I've trained in car parks before now - find a biggish tesco / retail park (without crazy paving) and go down there when it's quiet. I spent a few ours outside a Comet in Reading before - OK, it was only a loop of 200 metres maybe, but still did the job.

Re:places to train - 13:33 31 May 07 Likewise not familiar with S'hampton.

If you have a local modern type industrial estate, you could perhaps use the roads there in the evenings or weekends when it's quiet. The modern estates generally have good road surfaces and car park areas you can use.

Good luck with the training Dolly.

Re:places to train - 20:42 31 May 07 From memory and a couple Euroblades you could try Southampton Common. The paths aren't ideal (a little thin and rough in a couple of places) but long enough that you can stretch your legs and do some nice laps I would have thought. I could be completely wrong, my memory isn't good After my car accident (not my fault) it's now cheaper for me to cancel my car insurance early and take out another year with someone else! - Twitter Status
