Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 11:57 29 Aug 08 Full details here: http://www.sk8school.co.uk/skateevents.html#Treasure

This is a relaxed way to explore somewhere new! Bexhill is a rarely skated backwater of the skating world but it has a secret.

Its surfaces are to die for ! Yes I really mean 10/10.

It's a quaint little seaside resort about 15 miles from Eastbourne and we've planned a Treasure hunt as an excellent way to explore it. Registration is 1:30pm and we expect to finish by 4:30.

There will be some Cones and a Beat Box for after hunt celebrations!
Open for individuals and teams of up to 4 people. If you are coming on your own we can group loners up at registration time!

Hope some of you will be able to make it.

Re:Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 14:19 29 Aug 08 I have always wanted to do a treasure hunt on skates! Hmmmmm, new LCD screen for £150 or new PC (inc LCD) for £250, hardware is so cheap! - Twitter Status

Re:Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 15:11 29 Aug 08 I remember doing car treasure hunts when I was younger and zipping around pub car parks, lanes etc trying to decipher strange clues!
Always used to love those - if anyone wants to do this I guess I'd be game to. It's the day before the London freewheel so it could be a weekend on skates

Re:Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 15:28 29 Aug 08 Well it certainly works in exactly the same way as the car treasure hunts.

There will be 2 minute staggered starts for the teams and the questions are rigged so that you won't just be able to follow the team in front and read the name plate of the same lamp post/relic/sculpture !

The question papers will be custom made per team so the questions are in very different orders! (with the skate mileage carefully balanced to ensure fairness). After all we don't want one team back in 30 minutes because they only had to skate round the block!

There are points for getting back first - but also points for answering questions - harder questions mean more points so there will be a balance between speed and being thorough.

I've only been involved in the checking of some of the clues so far - but even that was fun! anyone who's involving themselves in the full finished product is going to be in for ball!

Excellent!

Re:Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 12:36 01 Sep 08 Wouldn't you be frightened if a bearded man with a long blonde wig turned-up wearing a red fitted jumpsuit?

Re:Bexhill (Eastbourne) Treasure Hunt 20 September - 12:47 01 Sep 08 Last I checked - there were no bonus points for fancy dress.
Obviously - it's not too late to add the category...

But lets assume we're not going to for the moment!
