I certainly agree that they will protect against gravel rash. I have sliders try not to skate without mine for that reason, one of my hands still tingles every now and then due to gravel rash I got as a kid.
I also find that since I always wear pads I tend to throw my arms down first as I know that my hands are at least protected from the impact. One fall I had (last year I think) going quite slowly in the Arena, I fell without pads and nicely bruised my palms as I was so used to being able to put my hands down hard to stop even a slow fall
I think there are more to wrist guards than just wrist protection, I like my sliders
The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth. |
