Newbie skater - 10:16 04 Apr 08 Can anyone recommend a place where I can get some size 3 roller skates (not blades) for general purpose? Mrs. Winnersh (Sorry to disapoint you ladies) has expressed a desire to get on eight wheels. I'm looking for something reasonable. Thank you.

Re:Newbie skater - 11:07 04 Apr 08 That's a tough question as it all comes down to personal preference, comfort and fit. We usually recommend going somewhere like Club Blue Room to try on, find out what you like and then surf the net for the best deals once you know what you want.

Re:Newbie skater - 12:57 04 Apr 08 This reminded me of a thread I had read on SR,
http://www.serpentineroad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28996

Does she really want quads or does she think quads would be easier?
As above or hire skates and see what she likes.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Re:Newbie skater - 14:11 04 Apr 08 Try a car boot sale

Try somewhere like JJB Sports who sell quad skates that are like trainers on wheels. Quite cheap and quite comfortable. The wheels might not be brilliant but you can always upgrade

Re:Newbie skater - 14:29 04 Apr 08 That's not a bad idea, especially as you're not sure if she's gonna like it.
