Yep! Had a longer skate just now... love them!! Really would like to give them a run on smoother surfaces though, as my roads can vary in smoothness, etc.

Can anyone recommend some good parks or areas with smooth paths, etc. where i could skate? Am fine going into London, etc. Don't necessarily want some big gathering or skate event, just a nice place to practise & enjoy!!

The scenery around Virginia Water, etc. gets a tad repetative as well when you do it as much as i do!!

And on the note of the Bones... they're sold. £23.25 (thought i'd give a discount on postage, as it's my fault i couldn't meet her!) They went quicker than i expected!!

Looking at the condition of my Abec5's, one of them is even mildly rusted! And they're dirty & mucky!! Would rather this didnt happen to the bones i've put on.

Will follow the cleaning instructions in FAQs

But also noticed when removing the abec5's, i used the allen key & stuck it diagonally in, and just levered out the bearing, then pushed the other one out from the other side. This works.... but did feel very rough & tough!! is there a specific bearing removal tool out there that will let me take them out without levering or being too rough that i perhaps leave a dent in them!!

Also, how often (i.e. after how many hours of use) should i clean & grease the bearings, to ensure best performance, life & durability?

(sorry for all the questions!)

Dorney is particularly smooth. Check the Calendar for events before you go there.
The old go-kart track at Brooklands is even smoother with other skateable space there. Brooklands gets a bit overrun with kids on bikes and kiters at times.
Eelmoor is good with a gradual climb one side and back down the other side.
Not listed, but Elvetham Heath (an estate just off the B3013 near Fleet) has good cycle tracks threading through the upmarket estate.

Bottom of page. They are getting rare as Salomon are no longer in the skate market. If you check the skate suppliers listings you will find others but I have no experience of them.

If you skate over sand then very often.
Indoor skating tends to wrap hair picked up from the floor around the bearing axle so needs external cleaning often.
Skating in the wet will require drying out the bearings and re-lubing to preserve them unless you use full ceramics or ceramic/stainless combinations. (No not the Reds - Full ceramics are around £180 to £220 a set)
