Re:Beginners guide to Wheel Rotation - 09:22 04 Aug 08
Hi-Lo Wheel rotation.
Following on from my previous comment on rotating wheels when the front pair are a different size to the rear pair. This would be my preferred rotation.
Follow Elric's rotation picture but move 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 left to right and right to left, without turning the wheels. This means your wheel label, which was outside, will now be inside. Do the same with 3 to 4 and 4 to 3 left to right and right to left, without turning your wheels.
Next time you rotate then you know you have done the previous rotation because all your labelling is inside. This time move 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 on the same foot, rotating wheels so your labelling is outside again. Move 3 to 4 and 4 to 3 on the same foot, rotating them. Do the same with the other foot.
You now have all your labels on the outside again, so next time you know you need to go to the first rotation.
This should even out wheel wear between feet and rotation direction. I would carry this out fairly frequently when the inner side of the wheels shows signs of wearing down.
