Camberley Street Skate - 13:46 20 Mar 05 Hi folks,
i reckon we should consider this soon, i suggest if we are all agreed that Dogsbody, Dan Solo, and me work on a suitable route of about 7 miles, remembering that it should be challanging but not dangerous, so that we can have as many skaters involved as possible,
we could include a parade lap around the town centre like last night to let people know there is skating in Camberley, which could go back to the arena or the car parks so that the families that go Saturday morning can do a short skate with kids.

Dan Solo and me are National Skate Patrol members, so that might help in marshalling the event and getting permission to block roads if neccessary, it depends on numbers, but it would be good if we can encourage family groups on the parade lap.

if anyone has any ideas or has useful contacts, please let me know.

However! while I don't think it would be a problem talking to the police and blocking roads for a min at a time I think they may have a problem with kids being on the roads, even though traffic would be blocked one way there would still be traffic in the other lane.

is there a carnival or something we could link it to?

that would make it safer for the kids, i was thinking of only round Camberley town centre for the families, as it is mostly one way apart from the duel carriage way.
