Skate Lights - 22:53 07 May 05 A few people have asked me about the lights on my skates. They are quite simply little LED lights that you can get for your keyring. The important things to check for when buying keyring lights for your skates are...
  1. That you can keep it turned on without having to keep the button pressed down
  2. That it is small enough
  3. That it has a flat side that you can use to stick it too your skate

I got my lights from the Gadget shop but seeing as they have now gone into recievership I have been on the look out for more places.

Typical, you look for ages and then you find two at once!!

  • Od-ities Accessory - This is actually identicle to the one that I got from the Gadget shop, I think the price on this was 6 pounds.
  • Inova MicroLight - Slightly more money but looks much better built, also comes in a number of colours so you could get a white one for the front and red one for the back! I think the price was 12 pounds.

  • Oh and they can be held on very easily with velcro pads

A must for any roller disco or skating event such as Eastborne

Re:Skate Lights - 15:00 08 May 05 that depends on what your after, i make them to fit mainly quads on the foot plate assuming there is a gap under the arch of the foot and the foot plate for the cable ties to fit through. they can fit some inlines using velcro.

il have to have a think on prices as ive just changed the design a bit.
normally there about £30 for a pair of the red or green (4led versions)
and round about £25 for a pair of the red or green (2led versions). im out of blue at the moment trying to earn some cash to get some more.

take it from me the red ones are out of this world at night as they are 17 candle power per led/ the green ones are about 11 by comparison. I will try and get some sets made up this week if anyone is interested and get some better piccies up.

i do some custom jobs too if these arnt to spec. soz if the price seems a bit high but please bare in mind these are hand made not mass produced and are fairly labour intensive.

anyone interested can email me on james@arun-skating.co.uk

MacDonalds in Camberley (no not the fast food chain!) are selling these now! I have just bought all the ones on display but apparently they have more in the store room and at the bargain price of £3.50 each. Great for the roller D.I.S.C.O. at Eastbourne

Re:Skate Lights - 16:08 16 Jun 05 Next time I'm at Camberely (some time in the distant future from the looks of things) I'll bring my lights for all to see. Trouble is, they only fit on my five wheelers (at the moment, looking at doing a mod..) and cost 50 quid... ! Skate Monkey !
