these don't provide wrist protection as such, but give you something to slide along on. Plus they look a lot cooler. I wear these when I'm racing, but for street skates and other situations where I'm potentially surrounded by people who can't stop/turn/skate, I'll wear bigger ones with more of a splint to protect against breakages.! Skate Monkey !
