Re:BattleUK - 7th Oct 2006 - 19:34 18 Sep 06 A quick lowdown on how its going to work then! (At least as far as I can figure it out 'cos it keeps being "tweaked"!)

The skaters who enter are placed into mixed ability groups of 4 or 5. Obviously the 'mixed ability' bit is fairly rough but the idea is not to have all the top slalomers battle each other at the beginning.

Then each person in the group gets two 30 second runs down the cones. Anything goes. No set pieces no trick families. Marks are given as an overall score e.g. 30/35 for technical, 15/20 style.

The winner of the battle group gets 5pts, the second person gets 3pts, the third person gets 2pts and the fourth gets zero.

These points are then used to eliminate the lower ranked skaters and make new battle groups where the game repeats until the top 4 skaters make a final battle group and skate it off.

There's a UK comp, an international mens and an international womens. So if you dont fancy competing against the french you can just stay in the UK one!

Nice to know some of you are coming up anyhow!
