Publicity Idea - 11:34 27 Sep 06 Had a quick trawl through the site to see if the following idea has been suggested before, couldn't find anything so if it has, sorry.

A relatively cheap idea suitable for younger/potential skaters is crayons and something to colour, especially if the picture is of skating activities (esp Sk8 Jam). These can be handed out on a highstreet, in a shopping centre or, with consent, given to other clubs or meeting places. Perhaps even handed out on a Sat morning at the arena.

So, feedback please on the idea and whether it has potential, not concerned about costs at the moment. Also, budding artists, come up with 2 or 3 skating scenes suitable for each age group (upto 5, 6 to 8 and over 8).

Re:Publicity Idea - 21:53 27 Sep 06 The arena leisure centre did actually used to have a picture to colour each month which you could pick up from the bistro upstairs. The pictures were judged at the end of the month and the winners of each of the 3 age categories they had would win a pair of cinema tickets. (This is going back to the days when we had Robins cinema in Camberley!)

Guess we could always give away tickets to the skate session instead although I have a funny feeling members get to skate for free anyway?

Re:Publicity Idea - 10:31 28 Sep 06 I guess I'm going to have to expand on this.

I was thinking more along the idea of a skater or skating scene (depending on age) which could be coloured in. Along the top or featured prominently is either Camberly Skaters, CSkate, or such like, again to be coloured in. along the bottom or on a feature in the scene would be the details of who, where and when.

I was not thinking of only producing the sheets to colour in but also of handing out those little packs of 4 crayons. Yes, they are not free but if someone can come up with the suitable pictures (perhaps outlining an actual photo) I'll come up with the crayons.

Perhaps a prize might be a nice idea, will need a bit of thought.

I didn't know that so ta for the info. So, taking it a stage further, does anyone have a suitable photo(s) that we can convert? And as I am a nincompoop and virtually computer-illiterate , is there anyone who can do this hi-tech wizardry.

Bored at work = get big book of big words out

Take a look through the cskate gallery, it would be great to use a cskate photo For a good conversion to outline you want one with bold colour changes.
This is a lovely idea! Little free libraries at the end of your street http://t.co/RqJesYfC Seriously considering building one. - Twitter Status

Re:Publicity Idea - 23:55 28 Sep 06 Seriously - it should be enough to provide the flippin' drawing. How many kids HAVEN'T got SOMETHING that they can use to fill large areas of white paper. It's a good idea, but giving crayons away?? Come on, people! ! Skate Monkey !
