) There is now an RSS feed for Goodwood Roller Marathon News, It basically takes it's feed from the announce mailing list. Add it to your reader/aggregator/bookmarks

Can't really give any recommendations, but we will be pleased to see you guys there. Basically it's a fun event for charity, although naturally some of the speed guys take it seriously, and tend to come through in lines. The winner last year did a time of 1hr 24min.

The circuit itself is fairly straighforward with a very long but very gradual uphill, usually with the wind against you. There is a short dip with a down and up section, and the rest of it is level or slightly downhill. Because chip timing is used you have to cross a mat on the completion of every lap. It can be slightly tricky on skates, but I don't know how it would be on a longboard. There is water available on the far side of the track, and probably this year on the finish straight.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 29th July 2007 - 12:43 06 Jun 07 The only thing I'd say is try and keep an eye (ear) open for the faster guys. Stay off the racing line unless you know there's no one behind you and give way for people lapping you (there will be a few, at least).

BUT, this is PRIMARILY a charity event, so I doubt anyone will be too annoyed if they have to go around you. ! Skate Monkey !
