Re:London Inline Marathon - 2 Sep 2007 - 08:49 03 Sep 07 I meant, how did you find the race? e.g. how did the track compare to Lee Valley? I bought some bread this morning. Ciabatta? No, it was a fixed price

Re:London Inline Marathon - 2 Sep 2007 - 11:34 03 Sep 07 Well I'm pleased to have finished (the Half Marathon).

I thought the course was good. I wouldn't have even attempted Lee Valley.

Lemming did a good time - obviously not training helps. Nice to meet your folks Lemming.

Monty Dog also competed. Hope you did OK Fraser.

Re:London Inline Marathon - 2 Sep 2007 - 13:06 03 Sep 07 The course was nice - smooth and only one painful (short) uphill, although that long drag up after the first two left handers did become a bit of a chorse after about 20 laps.

Nicely attended too - not full of super speedies which made me feel better.

No contest to Lee Valley - I wouldn't have enjoyed a marathon there (you'll note I've only ever done the half before now) so it wsa good to feel more confident with a flatter course. Counting was tricky, but luckily I had Duracell's GPS available at my final lap, so I knew where I was.

Re:London Inline Marathon - 2 Sep 2007 - 13:13 03 Sep 07 Yep, checked to make sure I'd finished the requisite number of laps and a GPS currently heads my wanted list! Had a good first half - whizzed around in about 45 minutes but the second half was distinctly slower than the first - my lower back and skates conspiring against me and had to stop a couple of times to stretch and get some blood to my feet. Great little circuit helped with the intimacy and friendliness - but skating uphill uses muscle groups not familiar to me - need to find some hills to train on.

Re:London Inline Marathon - 2 Sep 2007 - 16:22 03 Sep 07 Sounds like it's thumbs-up for the new venue then.
