To clarify the following points...
Slalom will be included in the magazine (for sure!)
Steve @ Bardy Bardy assists the co-ordination of the magazine for us ... but need to be absolutely clear that Bardy Bardy Skate Store / QuadSkates.co.uk are NOT writing this magazine !!!
We have a team of grassroots skaters who feel very strongly there are so many skating events & styles - the magazine will help co-ordinate all UK information in one place.
Our plan is to start small - we are NOT going the route of News Stand Distributors (high street retailers) - this would result in a very small but VITAL part of our plan is overlooked … we’re planning to resell through Clubs, Societies, Venues and Skate Shops, allowing all profits to benefit skaters directly- much better than lining the pocket of Multinational Magazine Distributors. Magazines will be available from March 2007 in most Skate Venues, Clubs, Roller Discos, Ice Rinks, Skate Shops and our website – subscriptions will be available shortly.
The Magazine will cost £2.50 for a full colour glossy print with lots of content / ads / classifieds / event reviews etc etc...
Most importantly, we're looking for your contributions / photos of you, your skates and anything you'd like published... remember, there are over 250,000 skaters in the UK > and that is increasing all the time !!! Let's get Skating back on the map and develop the sport sensibly (as the LDA and Sport Development Agency tend to forget about skaters & facilities).
