Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 16:17 14 Feb 08 Well we already have one (or three) for Camberley Skaters but don't have anything specifically for Goodwood.

I won't be the one deciding, I'm just trying to pre-empt things that may come up in the meeting

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 01:06 15 Feb 08 Hello Everyone,

My friend Beckie has spent a bit of time to make some examples of the idea for the Goodwood logo she has.
As you can appreciate, they are just works in progress at this stage, these are just to give you an idea of what the final logo might be like. Don't worry about the grey/gradients/blotches - these are just examples!

Idea 1:

Idea 2:

Idea 3:

The font includes the NSPCC green dot as was done in the logo on the teeshirts last year, Beckie thinks a round font would work best on this logo, this one is an example, but it could be changed. This style can be adapted to various layouts to suit posters etc that we want to use it on.

These were made using photos from last years marathon, but if you have any pictures you think would work well in these logos then let me know.

What do you think? Any comments/ideas?

Thanks Beckie for taking the time to do this for us!

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 07:38 15 Feb 08 Middle one may exclude the 'family' element. All the speed skaters already know it's there, so either keep them off the logo, or have a few skaters of different levels. Almost like the evolution of man picture, starting with full gimbie and ending with somone good (like Gav, Hans or James) ! Skate Monkey !

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 12:18 15 Feb 08 Thanks Beckie.

I think they're great. Use of the "O" is good as it connects with the NSPCC, and looks like skate wheels. I have a preference for the first one.

Now who's photo is that?

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 12:58 15 Feb 08 The photo used for the first one was taken by John Preston.

As I mentioned before, if anyone has any pictures of skaters from elsewhere (the arena for example) that might work let me know. We could always take some new ones specially if needed I guess?

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 15:29 15 Feb 08 You can see his race number so we can look him up and if we go with something like this we can always do a custom photo shoot. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Re:Design a Goodwood Logo - Please! - 16:01 15 Feb 08 Mansfield has just sent me her suggestions with the following note...

I've tried to include a lot of things with this idea:

- the family aspect
- the Goodwood circuit in a *stylised* form and lent back to try and make it a bit 3D, with token chequered flags to make it more obv that its a race circuit.
- inclusive to boarders/ other non-pwoered small wheelers...
- some paceliners for the speedies
- and I just want to make the letter O's in the wording look like skate wheels....

Theres a lot going on in the logo of course, but its possible to take some bits out etc. Theresd lots that could be altered/tweeked if people like any of the ideas
