Re:Help! Too much Choice on quads!! Help me!! - 04:34 01 Apr 07
Welcome, Sarah! I can highly recommend going along to any events run by CSkate or by the Cardiff skaters - it'll be a trek but worth every minute. I went to Eastbourne last year with a Welsh chap called Eifion (aka Birdy!) from near Builth Wells. We had a fantastic time and Eifion made loads of new friends.
The Second Saturday Skate in Cardiff is a good laugh if you can get there. It's an indoor session in the Dutch Barn at Llanishen High School. They tend to skate outside when the weather's nice over the summer, though. It's also worth a trip to Swansea if you fancy a skate along the prom - 5 miles of smooth, flat, prime seafront path. I miss Swansea now
As for your skates, what did you get? My most recent skates were Raptor quads (made by Stateside) and they weren't too bad if you don't mind them bulky and .... masculine. They're cheap and you get what you pay for, but they kept me rolling for over a year and I'm a big girl who puts a lot of pressure on my wheels & bearings.
The CSkaters are a very friendly bunch indeed - hope you get a chance to meet them in person soon.
