Silverstone Thurs 14th June - 21:35 09 Jun 07 This Thursday evening Silverstone Racing Circuit (Both the Club and GP) are available to Skate or Cycle around. The evening is being run as a fund raiser for three local(ish) schools, one of which happens to be my neices's.

It costs about GBP3 to skate/cycle around the track starting from 6pm until late (as in when it gets dark). Time enough to get plenty of laps in anyway.

I believe two of the schools are also putting on a BBQ.

If you go you will be asked on the way in as to which school you are supporting. The school to support is "Syresham".

Sorry for the late notification of this but I only found out myself today.

If this is a regular, it could be added to the calendar, and planned for in advance.

As Merry said, it's a bit far for a school night, and getting there would take some time.

Re:Silverstone Thurs 14th June - 16:00 10 Jun 07 Yes, this is an annual event. They try to organise it as close to the longest day as possible.

Apparently they are not the only Schools/Organisations that hold such events. Not too sure how one finds out about when the other ones are on as I could find nothing on the Silverstone Website. I guess giving them a ring would be the way. Only downside is that they would probably all be on a week night.

It makes me wonder if any other circuits would be willing to do something similar. Who knows perhaps it will expand into Formula Skate!!!

Apparently before the downpour the track conditions were quite good. Oh well maybe next year.
There were still lots of people out on the course cycling. If only I'd taken my bike
