Re:Le Mans 2007 - Details - 02:40 19 Jun 07 just how much longer are you thinking of making the shifts? And how many people will be in each shift? last year we had 3 and we did 1hr30 each... by the end of that time, i was knackered, and happy to be off to get some rest!

Oh and by the way i got some great new skates the otherday http://www.rollerblade.com/products/products.php?id=3&target=193
i was flying down the seafront with these on!! and the best bit is how quick you can get these babies on!! slip your foot in and yank the pull cord and WHAM!!! they're on, its time to skate!
just dont hit the cones!

Re:Le Mans 2007 - Details - 15:48 19 Jun 07 I hadn't decided yet although your the first to say that they shouldn't be that much longer, other people that have voiced opinions were implying double what we did last year (3 hours on 6 hours off) which is what I was going to look at. Do people think this is too much?? It gives you more of a sleep but also a longer shift!

LOL, OK max, I get what your saying, you can do the start if no one else wants to

Re:Le Mans 2007 - Details - 21:24 19 Jun 07 I can't make it this year so strictly speaking my opinion doesn't count but I'm not sure how well I'd have coped with double stints. That would have meant 15 to 20 miles of flat out skating in one session.

Re:Le Mans 2007 - Details - 21:39 19 Jun 07 I don't know if the following information will help you in reaching a decision but you might like to consider it.

The normal human body works on sleep cycles of about 3 hours, or thereabouts, which is why you can wake up early feeling refreshed fall asleep again for an hour or so then wake up again feeling knackered. I'm no expert so cannot give you the specifics.

So a downtime of 3 or 6 hours may not always work if people are intending to sleep. A better combination if you have the numbers for it is 2 on 4 off. Thereby you have around 30 mins either side of a sleep cycle to grab a bite to eat, relax or whatever.
