Even more of an achievement then And you raised LOADS OF MONEY

Indeed, cycling it a couple years ago felt like a real achievement... but it completely pales in comparison to this.

Re:Please sponsor me to skate London to Brighton! - 11:09 18 Jun 07 Well done guys - much respect! I really wish I'd got myself fit enough to have done it with you. Don't take any excuses from me next year!
Again, well done - a real achievement.

Definately mad to do it dressed up too. What was the chosen theme in the end - did you go with the Flintstones?

If so does that mean Chez was Pebbles

Re:Please sponsor me to skate London to Brighton! - 12:30 18 Jun 07 I wouldn't say I found it easy but I definitely suffered less than others. Lots of CV work in the gym recently...

Being dressed as Fred Flintstone did cause some concern as people weren't sure whether to comment about the skates or the outfit.

I was particularly disturbed by the little girl who shouted 'Good luck to the man in the skirt.'

Yeah, thanks kid. Go watch some classic cartoons - I'm not in drag.

Re:Please sponsor me to skate London to Brighton! - 13:05 18 Jun 07 All the cyclists were great especially as I was really struggling and dressed as Barney Rubble! "Keep going Barney" and "almost there Barney" It really helped. Re:Please sponsor me to skate London to Brighton! - 14:09 18 Jun 07 Yes sorry guys I kept it very quiet that I was considering doing this in case I bailed out! Having been so busy recently I was very concerned about the lack of training I had fit in beforehand! Only made up my mind about it on Friday/Saturday and even then it was of course dependant on the 'you know what!'

Definately hard work though and although Dan said Lemming and I found it easy...I really didn't!!! Was very close to bailing out at the 30 mile point and even sent a London skater a message saying don't expect to see me at the end!

But like troopers we battled on and Lemming was incredibly supportive towards us 'slower' skaters! So thanks to Lemming!

The costumes worn by the guys were great and attracted plenty of attention! Felt quite under dressed for the occasion myself

Also, I could not believe just how supportive the cyclists were and all the people alongside the roads who were there cheering everyone on all day. It really helped keep up the morale!

Getting to the top of Ditchling Beacon was an emotional point for me to say the least! I was quite overwhelmed at the achievement of making it up the hill (without removing skates and walking!) whilst being absolutely exhausted! Then there was the final realisation at that point that I WAS actually going to make it to the end.

Finally just a quick well done to everyone who managed to complete the London to Brighton yesterday! For me I think it will be a once and once only achievement (I have no plans to put my body through that ever again - unless it is for a VERY good cause!)
