New Fila F100 Skates - 10:47 06 Jul 07 OK so while I was in Germany, I bought some of these skates. No idea how I'll cope with them, but this type of skate does not seem to be available over here. Got a good deal from Warehouse One in Hilden who have an English option on their website. They have a large selection of all types of skates and accessories from various manufacturers.

Question is, how the heck do I adjust the frame alignment?

I've kind of done a basic by adjusting the angle so that my wheels point sort of straight ahead, and adjusting laterally so that my wheels are vertical when I stand. Is this sort of the correct thing to do? Lemming, Monty Dog, Steff, Timo? Any other speed skaters who can advise or point me to articles? I did find this article.

Re:New Fila F100 Skates - 11:40 06 Jul 07 Nice skates! I was looking at those when I thought that I may actually be able to speed skate... then i realised it wasn't going to happen.

Will be great to see how you find them.
Very happy to hear they are bringing back Red Dwarf in 2009 for four episodes!! - Twitter Status

A gold version and a red version. Maybe just different years. I think Timo's were gold. I've seen a few comments on the Pro Fuel frame not being very robust. It's got some very thin bits on it.

I think Ruff may have had a pair of skates with the same frames as mine on handmade boots.

I have had my eyes open for a while for some short boots with 4 X 100 wheels. I just want to try. Don't think I'll be sorted for Goodwood though. I have a feeling this will require a completely different technique.

Re:New Fila F100 Skates - 09:50 07 Jul 07 The Fila frames are very good. It was those or the maples that I was gonna get - went with the maples 'cos we had a better deal. ! Skate Monkey !

Re:New Fila F100 Skates - 22:26 08 Jul 07 From my limited knowledge and Chad Hendrick's DVD - firstly - the boot need to be exactly in the middle of the frame i.e. same amount of wheel/frame sticking out either end. Frame lateral alignment is a bit more tricky, but apparently start with the rear inline with the achillies and the centreline at the front between big and second toes. Some tweaks may be required to adjust for biomechanical mis-alignment, but that's a degree of expertise I don't have.
