Re:Le Mans 2008 - 28 & 29th June 2008 - 14:33 26 Jun 08
Hello!
Why are you worried about the difference in the road names? Is it for the route? Or because you're worried the surface will have changed???
Even if it is a "departementale" it doesn't make much difference, it just means the maintenance is now done by the "departement" and is not financed by the national highway people. Generally an N road can't be called a D road, it's one or the other...And road names don't change very often, they tend to add roads and that changes the way others are called..(I think I may be going into too much detail!)
If it's because you're slightly worried about getting lost, try viamichelin.com (they do good france maps)...
Honestly, you shouldn't have any trouble finding Le Mans, I think that it's fairly well marked from anywhere anyway.
Where do you get to in France? Le Havre? Or Cherbourg? I think that from Le havre Le Mans is signposted (and if it isn't, follow Rouen, then Le Mans is definitely signposted)... If Cherbourg, I think probably follow Caen then Le Mans...it's a big town so it will be marked fairly quickly!
Good luck!!!!
