Korea - Jeonju - 01:16 06 Sep 07 Oh my god...just oh my god!

This place is amazing!!

I thought i'd continue the theme of blogs on here after cheryls one.

I arrived yesterday at Seoul/Incheon airport at 1630 and was met by 2 guys who spoke little english...one just said manchester united...the other said a few more words than that! They quickly walked me to the bus stop and sat me down on the bus and said Jeonju....last stop.. and left me on my own for a 4 hour bus journey..........

I arrive in Jeonju and there are 2 ppl waiting for me calling out Mr Jonathan Mr Jonathan! Jonathan is my middle name... they must have got it from when i emalied my passport details to them...funny ppl!

so i get in the car with these 2 delightful ppl(cant remember their names!) and they drove me to meet all the important ppl of the skating world in Korea.. some president of the Korean skating thing... he is the one who gets all the money for the events.. then i met a guy called saun..or i think thats what he said... he speaks good english and is meeting me in a couple of hours to go exploring around this city.

i have also been told that tomorrow i will be meeting the Mayor of Jeonju and will receive presents from the city... cool eh?!!

The hotel is great... very posh... and the staff are fantastic! Breakfast this morning was interesting...the waiter stood about 5 foot away from me while i ate... and everytime i looked up in his direction he would bow and ask if i wanted anything!! was great... i was going to play a game and look up at him every 10 seconds and see if he would keep bowing... but decided against it as im on my own...and its just not as funny when your on your own!

i'm getting treated like royalty here....i better make the most of it while it lasts....they havent seen me skate yet!!!

Re:Korea - Jeonju - 03:45 07 Sep 07 Well its Friday now and i still havent skated.. just woke up...missed breakfast.. its 12:30 here.

I'm supposed to be going to some meal and presentation tonight with all the organisers and foreign skaters.. should be exciting!!

The food here is great... not sure Joie Baptiste the french skater is enjoying it as much though!

! i ate raw stingray last night...not the best food i've had...but you have to try these things!

didnt get up to much yesterday apart from meeting Joie and eating so much food!

i've got 5 hours to kill in the hotel till i get picked up...cant skate as its raining..so i'm going to try and chat up the waitress for a laugh!

Re:Korea - Jeonju - 13:54 07 Sep 07 Just had dinner with all the officials and the mayor of jeonju i recieved the present from him...all neatly wraped!! i had a Tv interview and my photo taken with every girl in the building

I have just been slaloming with the skaters from singapore outside the front of the hotel and managed to impress them by flukely spinning through 4x50cm cones on one wheel!!!.. Job done!

So what is the event your over there for?? Is it big? What rules etc?

The event is a slalom competition and a half marathon...its the 3rd year for the event and this year is the first year that they have got slalom..

i still dont know the rules properly yet...i'll find out tomorrow!
