Re:Halloween Street Skate - Sun 28 Oct 2007 - 11:37 24 Oct 07 Hi Lil Hannah, welcome to the site

Much as I love introducing people to street skating you do need to make sure your ready for it. The most important thing is being able to stop and turn in a controlled manner as you will be skating with a lot of other people.

I'm afraid I don't know your level of skating and people tend to be different out on the road as opposed to in the hall, some people even find it easier.

Personally, I wouldn't pick the Halloween skate as your first skate as other skaters get a bit exited which makes it more un-nerving. I would try one of the existing street skates first.

There re currently three regular street skates in London (and the odd one organised by us around Camberley when it's dry). The Sunday Stroll is the slowest and certainly the best skate to start with.

Re:Halloween Street Skate - Sun 28 Oct 2007 - 12:26 24 Oct 07 Hi Lil Hannah

Agree with Dogsbody's comments. The Sunday stroll is a good start place. Failing that just going to the local park or some of the outdoor areas like Eelmoor, Dorney Lake etc to see how it "feels" being outside.

Welcome to our lil world, hope to see you soon.

Re:Halloween Street Skate - Sun 28 Oct 2007 - 17:48 24 Oct 07 Just found a route map, in case anyone did not know.

Looks like we will have to move quite quick to get around that lot

Re:Halloween Street Skate - Sun 28 Oct 2007 - 18:57 24 Oct 07 Distance is 15 miles and speed should be the same as a London Skate although we are looping through town a few times which may slow us up a bit.
