Where is home - 01:08 21 Nov 07Don't you just love making other people work? Erm mister Dogsbody, where is home supposed to be? On the main menu it's what I call home but the little home above goes to the forums, I only just noticed that whilst actually coming to report something else.
From the HOME page ( the main menu one) I always click read posts since last visit but it only takes me to the home page (yea the little one) I'm just lazy so instead of me clicking three or four times to read the posts can you spend a few hours trying to work out why it's not working for me. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Actually, Dan, that's a nice idea. Can we have a few buttons there like Home, my house, friend's house and so on. Then, when you click them, you get teleported there.! Skate Monkey !

Re:Where is home - 17:17 21 Nov 07On the front page under the latest forum posts you have the following links, Show last 4 Hours - 24 Hours - Week - Since last visit
Since last visit link, always sent me to just the forum. BUT Today after reading this post and then going back to test it again I first tried testing 4 hours -24 hours - week - since last visit and it's just decided to work.
The "Since last visit" link If you login with the "remember me" option then when you re-visit the site after being away for more the 30 mins and click the "Since last visit" link you will probably get the error...Joomlaboard needs to (re)establish your access privileges before it can create a list of the latest posts for you.nDo not worry, this is quite normal... this used to be a javascript alert, now it's just in small text at the top of the page, not sure what has happened there!
After getting this error you can try the "Since last visit" link again and it should work without a problem.
Another way of getting to the "Since last visit" link is by clicking on the "Show Latest Posts" button at the top of any of the forum pages.
I guess this is a bug however I'm not going to add it to my todo list, see "Going forward" for why
Two home links I'm not too worried about this. anything that appears in the main content area relates to the content, in fact there is a line directly above the forums home button that I would indicate groups everything below it as "Camberley Skaters Forum" so it's the home for the forums as opposed to the home for the site.
That said, I don't want our visitors getting lost so I have renamed the forum button to "Forum Home" just for you
Going forward All of this doesn't matter too much as I actually have a job on my todo list to completely replace/upgrade the forums on this site which is likely to fix a load of bugs, reset other fixes I have done and probably add a load more!
This will probably happen at Christmas when I have some time. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Re:Where is home - 21:26 21 Nov 07thank you Much better, i feel right at
home
now.
I just tried Since last visit again and it took me to the forums but going back and similar to what you suggest, it works. No problem DB, I'll wait till you upgrade everything then I'll go looking for things for you to fix.
BTW your not alone, I've had to find a database error myself this evening.
