Is anybody doing this?

Are you helping with the timing as you did last year?

I believe MCS is doing this with Red and myself going along to help out.

Re:London Inline Marathon - 31 Aug 2008 - 12:34 27 Aug 08 I am thinking about going, helping with the water and taking photos. But I want to do the half marathon beforehand. They are a bit iffy about this so I might just go along, skate round a few times and take some photos.

Weasther looks good - sunny periods - 5mph winds (now there's a novelty)

Re:London Inline Marathon - 31 Aug 2008 - 13:14 27 Aug 08 I'm still thinking about doing the half Peter.

I probably will but got very confused when I tried to fill in the entry. The conditions under timing say the chip cost is included, although under entry fees reference is made to supplying your own chip.

Then when you get to the second stage of registration it says:-
Timing Chip Rental
if you do not have your own chip it will cost £5 to rent one from us.
An additional £10 security is also payable on the day:
it will be repaid when you return the chip.

I'm kind of happy to pay or not pay as the case may be, but on principle I would like to know the cost first.

However, if you have registered can you remember if there is a charge for the chip or not? You cannot use your Championchip.

Re:London Inline Marathon - 31 Aug 2008 - 16:45 27 Aug 08 Response from LSST about the confusion over chip charges.

Initially it was the intention of the Club to utilise the ChampionChip timing system. All Terms and conditions were written on this assumption. Basically that meant anyone who had their own chip would not pay and anyone who did not would be required to hire one at a cost of £5.

Unfortunately in the event we are now using a far superior HS Timing system with active transponders for all entrants.

This has meant that the Terms and conditions surrounding timing have changed based upon the following committee decisions.

1. Anyone who previously registered (at the time of the change) with their own chip will have any charges for the new system waived.

2. Anyone entering online before the event will be required to pay £5 rental charge

3. Anyone entering on the day will be required to pay £5 rental charge

4. All entrants will be required to pay a £10 deposit for their transponder which will be refunded upon return

5. Any lost chips will be charged at a cost of £60 to the entrant

I can only offer my apologies for the confusion and hope this is now clear. Essentially, if you enter on the day the cost will be £30 entry + £5 fee = £35 whereas if you enter online the charge will be only £25 + £5 fee =£30, a saving of £5!

I have amended the conditions to reflect this error.

Andy

Re:London Inline Marathon - 31 Aug 2008 - 13:33 29 Aug 08 Well I'm now on the entry list for the Half Marathon.
Are you entering or just attending Peter?
Hope the weather is better than forecast.
