Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 15:25 18 Jan 08 Dont bring sticks - they will be the wrong kind if they are street hockey.

You do not need to be scared - it is a non-contact sport - no body checing or barging. The stick and ball must stay below shouder height. And I wont expect you to go straight into a game without a few exercises to get used to the stick and ball.

It really is good fun - it only get serious when you start playing compeition.

I don't need to know how many are coming until a couple of days before.

The only thing you will need to do (for insurance purposes ) is to write your names on a sheet of paper before you come onto the playing area.

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 22:34 19 Jan 08 Is it Farnham Sports Centre:
Dogflud Way
Farnham, Surrey, GU9 7UD

Does anyone know the nearest train station?

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 00:27 20 Jan 08 Does anyone know the nearest train station? I have just found The Train Line has a search for local station function. Getting increasingly hooked on captionx.com , try it, you may like it! - Twitter Status

Farnham is definitely the nearest train station, but I'm not sure of the exact location.

Is Farnham Leisure Centre and Farnham Sports Centre the same place anyone?

It works
Thank you DB, it's now in my fav's. The train journey is easy with no changes so providing it is the right location and the weather is skateable I should be able to make it.

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 12:26 21 Jan 08 The only problem with the train station is that it is south of the Farnham bypass, not a road I would recommend skating across. Once over the bypass it is an easy journey - probably 500-600 metres. Not sure about the skating surface though.

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 17:35 21 Jan 08 There are traffice lights at the junction with the bypass though and I think they include a pedestrian crossing.

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 10:38 22 Jan 08 If I book the rink for an extra hour - 7pm to 8pm - would this be of interest to more people. Woud that allow people to attend the Camberley session then come on down to Farnham for 7pm? Having said that, it is still worthwhile seeing how the game is played.

Re:Roller Hockey tournament - 12:46 22 Jan 08 I am trying to persuade a few Arun skaters to come up as they have no skating that night.

Six would be a good number as Tom and I can put our skates on, then we woud have 4 a side. We put woodden panels in front of the goals with holes in to score through.
