I notice several participants in the mega-marathon race. Dan, Can I suggest that somebody contacts them and asks what support they are going to want during the race - especially the latter part. Are they going to sort out their own drinks/eats etc. or are they expecting us to help out.

Did you send flyers to ice rinks? I notice there is a family from Gosport and Bracknell Ice Hocky teams entered.

As the marathons skaters go on for 3+ hours, staying out for the megamarathon skaters will be no great hardship (weather permiting), especially as we are usally using that 4th hour to clear up the circuit.

I suspect they are going to want something other than water, so in reality I think they will need minders on skates to supply them as they go round.

At the moment we can offer water forthe full duration of the event.

But when you get nearer the event, ask them what they would like us to do. If they want special drinks etc. they will obviously have to supply it themselves, but we can probably get people on skates to deliver it to them.

My personal recommendationo is that they get their own supplies sorted out and get their own minders. In that way they will be sure of getting what they need.

I would have thought a water bottle fill up table where they could throw their bottles and have then filled for their next lap is an option!?

I have been given the okay to take a load of flyers to the National Roller Hockey Association cup finals next weekend, which by the way is at Bisley. So if anybody wants to go and watch more roller hockey (for free I think), let me know and I will give you details. Or find it on NRHA.CO.UK
