indoor/under cover street spots - 23:06 01 Jan 08 Hey, been tryin to find street spots hidden from the rain in or around Camberley which you can skate anytime of the day or night, anyone got any suggestions? Also I'm sick of the locals and police complain about how were always in the way and causing a nuisance and not actually doing anything positive about it, surely theres a way we can get an indoor skate park in Camberley or Nearer than London.
I was involved in the skatefest back in the day which eventually got us the shameful excuse for a park which is located in the middle of the Crabtree Park, which in my opinion is a rubbish location, what with the constant groups of yobs which terrorize the locals that go down there to genuinely have a good time and laugh. Please help me in the quest for a better park and better chance of a skate in our little town.

The man with a plan.

Re:indoor/under cover street spots - 21:16 02 Jan 08 Hi camberleyboarder, welcome to the site

I have often wondered the same thing. For a while a couple of years ago I actually searched the empty business of Camberley looking for an old factory unit that could perhaps be rented out but to not much avail.

The thing that finally put me off was the realisation that even if we could set somewhere up you would just end up with the same yobs there instead and the whole thing would end up turning into either a big fight or a babysitting service.

I think I still have the brainstorm I did somewhere... Yeah, it's not much but here it is...

Re:indoor/under cover street spots - 01:09 04 Jan 08 hey, i have been on to the Camberley News and they want to do an article on the skate scene or rather lack of it in Camberley. my e-mail is Neil_Mattacks@hotmail.co.uk the more of us the better i reckon, so get in touch if you wanna get involved, i think they wanna take a couple of pictures down at the skate park on crabtree. lets show them how many people are involved and that this really isn't a passin phase.

Re:indoor/under cover street spots - 12:30 04 Jan 08 Not my local area but i'd be happy to come along if it helps, besides they never really check to make sure everyone is from the area and if they do I could always tell a porky.

BTW, Hi neil and welcome.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Re:indoor/under cover street spots - 21:37 04 Jan 08 Yes i remember this one, good luck with the search.

insurance could be the biggest problem after finding a suitable venue, and getting consent to use it for extreme sports.

It wouldn't quite be right to say there wasn't a skate scene with the hundreds of (roller) skaters that go to the Arena each week
