London to Brighton - Sun 15th June 2008 - 21:59 21 Feb 08 This year the London to Brighton Bike Ride is on Sun 15th June and this year I am seriously NOT tempted!

Feel free to read my write up of last year for details

Re:London to Brighton - Sun 15th June 2008 - 11:36 22 Feb 08 I think it's safe to say that Le Mans is training for this

To be honest though they are completely different as Le Mans is lots of 3 mile sprints while this is 54 miles endurance. It's probably about the same total distance only in Le Mans you do it over 24 hours instead of 9 (in my case).

I would actually love to do it again this year but there is no way I am fit enough. I let my fitness slide last year which caught be out but this year I am even worse!

Re:London to Brighton - Sun 15th June 2008 - 16:17 22 Feb 08 Sounds interesting, If I am about I would be interested. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Re:London to Brighton - Sun 15th June 2008 - 13:33 03 Mar 08 Are the BHF cool for you to do this on blades, or do you simply crash the event? I'm thinking of taking part on my board.

Ta!

Re:London to Brighton - Sun 15th June 2008 - 13:40 03 Mar 08 AFAIK something silly like 50% of bike riders do the event each year without registering. It's not that they don't want to it's that the BHF limit the numbers of legitimate entries each year on the grounds of health and safety or some such.

This was one of the reasons I didn't register last year, I figured I would let a bike go in my place and if it was raining I wouldn't be going anyway.

Certainly we never had any problems with not registering. When we got to the finish line they gave you a medal if you were registered however if you weren't you could get a medal in exchange for a donation which we did
