Re:Cskate asbox - 00:32 13 May 08 Awwww, nasty! We have all done it though (well, something like it).

Perhaps invest in a diode, or a bridge rectifier so it doesn't matter, or just different sized connectors for plus and minus

Re:Cskate asbox - 13:29 13 May 08 As the logo is square, that'll be 2 sticky vinyl labels 5in X 5in, and 1 label 3.5in X 3.5in.

Should be able to organise. I will check and find out which format for the artwork

Black on orange if possible???

Sorry to hear of your mishap with the polarity. As DB has said, a diode would protect, but it needs to be big enough for the current taken, and it will probably reduce the power as it will drop the voltage (by 0.75V if I remember correctly). None reversible connectors would be preferable. We all have these mishaps at times.

Re:Cskate asbox - 09:32 14 May 08 It's alive.
It was actually a diode for reverse EMF that had gone, failed to danger and created a short straight across the supply, I have fitted a new one and it's working.

Not sure about different sized connectors because I don't really know which power supply we are going to use, at present I am using a motorbike battery but I have made the box to fit this or the batteries supplied by DB, we can always develope this idea as time goes on.
I will quickley look at securing the battery a bit better with maybe a strap or something but apart from that!
It's Ready and can be picked up if anyone wants to come over to me, I could bring it over to you one evening but I can't manage the other bits and pieces as well.
Small word of warning, I think it is heavy but I don't have anything to compare it with but it's a prototype so I'm sure we will have much better ideas next time.

Re:Cskate asbox - 11:43 14 May 08 Wow! awesome!

I think we need a street skate to celebrate and take it out for a test!

Elric, shout when your free and can head over our way (although we can head your way but I won't know the roads) and we'll organise a street skate... with SOUND

Re:Cskate asbox - 12:53 14 May 08 WHHOOOOOO

Nice one Elric.

Can I can help fetching the equipment over? Or maybe as Elric knows his area for skating, we could have a Sunday skaters outing to Hampton Court (or wherever).

DB - Re Logos. Please could I have Logos on CD in whatever formats you have. My signwriter normally only works with text as previous attempts with graphics have not been good, but is prepared to give it a try. I think the previous attempts may have been with low-res graphics. Black on orange is possible.

Re:Cskate asbox - 14:25 14 May 08 Well done Elric, can't wait to see it... and hear it...

How heavy is heavy? I'd volunteer to take a turn carrying it if needed.

Re:Cskate asbox - 22:33 30 May 08 It's a real pain in the ^*** not being able to get over to you easily, besides I have been thinking it will not be easy carrying the asbox, skates and everything else I need on the train.

If anyone fancy's a jaunt to Molesey you can collect it as soon as you like, it's sitting here doing nothing of any real use, although it came in handy a few times whilst drinking beer in the back garden.

I'm back out to China in a couple of weeks so hopefully we can get it over to Camberley before then.

Any volunteers?

Re:Cskate asbox - 23:39 30 May 08 I don't mind collecting - possibly this Sunday.

But as I proposed before, can a group of us perhaps go over there for a skate? Can you guide us somewhere Elric? Is Hampton Court or Bushy Park skateable from you?

Don't mind driving. Who's for a skate out Molesey way?
