Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 16:11 12 Feb 08 When will the flyers be out? Make sure there is enough time for people to make use of the early entry reduced price - assuming there will be one.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 21:51 12 Feb 08 LOL, we didn't release flyers till April last year and didn't open registration til later. We are working hard to get all the details sorted and will get flyers out, sponsorship forms sorted, registration forms sorted, online registration open and questions answered as soon as possible So who originally came up with size of a U as a measurement of a rack unit? - Twitter Status

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 15:07 14 Feb 08 If anybody is interested in the contact details of the Sports Editor of the Chichester Observer let me know and I will pm the email address. He wants it in his diary. Here is my sales pitch - did I overdo it?

Something for your sporting diary. There is going to be a roller (inline) skate marathon (42K) and super marathon (100K) at Goodwood race track on Sunday 10th August. If you want to follow it up I can get you the organisers contact details. Ity has been running for several years (6 or 7 I think) and is one of only 2 UK speed skating marathons this year. There are shorter events for recreational skaters as well. It usually attracts 200-300 skaters. There is also a charity side to it and last year raised £5000 for the NSPCC

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 16:44 14 Feb 08 That is great Peter thank you! I think it was the Chichester Observer that we were in last year as we had our photograph taken with the NSPCC patron (who is the Duchess of Richmond and lives at Goodwood) although we never got to see if anything came of it and if we ever got printed!?

Oh and it was £4,475.52 for the NSPCC and £5,008.30 raised for Charity

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 07:36 15 Feb 08 It's one of three distance races, not two. Although Preston isn't exactly well known...

Looks good though.

I can see you boys are not newspaper journalism savvy. There is nothing wrong with a slight exageration of the truth to make your case sound better.

But if you have any entrants from overseas, for goodness sake don't tell the Daily Mail, or they might end up with some headlines about the country being swamped by immigrant skaters

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 10:09 15 Feb 08 Marketing is something I am absolutely rubbish at

I can see that Peter has at least read the minutes from the Goodwood meeting while Lemming hasn't

Lemming, Preston is no more by the sounds of it, they made rather a large loss last year and aren't doing a race this year.

Peter, thank you for picking up on the new 100km race this year
