But, if you want to go one step further, think about a new catagory for Goodwood next year....... a 24h catagory

You won't be expecting a 24 hour water stop I hope

What a brilliant write up.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 06:52 16 Sep 08 And on the subject of write ups, does anybody know when/if the Sept edition of Skate Magazine will be out? I sent a couple of items to the editor, including a Goodwood write up, but haven't heard anything back

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 09:04 16 Sep 08 10th of October, www.skatefurther.com will be hosting the 2nd UK Ultraskate at Dorney Lake starting at 8pm.

I don't want to skate for 24 hours but I would be interested in finding out if I could do 4 or 5hrs. Is it "just turn up" - "skate at your own risk" etc...

Pete is skating 60 miles for World Poverty Day starting at 11am. There are a few people doing the 24 however all are welcome to join for a few miles.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 21:01 16 Sep 08 You're welcome! Real life is the best story don't you think?

Perhaps you could be the first to blade from JOG to LE?

Two of our 'order' have done so: http://www.boardfree.co.uk/pushforchange/bornfree/index.htm

Serriously though.... could you manage 120 miles per day with a 20Kg ruchsack on your back (types he who is looking for next years challenge)

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 09:21 17 Sep 08 Some skaters said that Goodwood 08 was harder than L-B!
Training training and more training!
The difficult bit would be getting time off work.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 10th August 2008 - 19:31 03 Oct 08 Och, so it's a week to go. Anyone around on the Saturday will be made to feel most welcome and it would be good to chat to someone. Remember that even though we start at 8pm on Friday night, some of us will be doing a full days work starting at 8/9am. There's some maths there which is probably best not thinking about.
Me, I'll be 'working from home' and then dragging my good self to Dorney.
If you do plan a session at Dorney on the Saturday, there will be a few people there. The 'thing' that got us through the last 24 event was other people as I'm sure you will have experienced at Le Mans.
Come on! Have a day in Buckinghamshire and get yourself out there!!
