Welcome to our world - be afraid be VERY afraid.....
Nah, only messing, we're a pretty harmless lot who enjoy the odd skate or two...
I'm out of action at the moment skatewise, but I have a super-duper pimped-up kickboard (microscooter type thingy) ready for Eastbourne this weekend, and am going to do one lap at GOODWOOD with lots of "minders".
Make sure you introduce yourself to anyone with a Camberley skaters t-shirt on.
See you there.

Hope you get back on track soon. I will be hopefully wearing a t-shirt but just look for the one with the skate burns on the back of her legs and that will be me
Look forward to meeting you

I was so please to stumble across this site as ive been looking for a place to learn to skate. I haven’t had a chance to read much of the forum but thought I’d introduce myself.
I used to skate allot (years ago!), but now I don’t even know where my skates are! I have been wanting to go to the Canvas roller disco in London for ages, so have been looking for a place that’s local to get back into it (im in Farnborough)
I have been looking at Quad skates (think im fussy tho), I used to use Inline but I think quads suit me better as I like the dancing and tricks element, altho I intend on using them outdoors as well, so any advice on what to buy would be helpful.
Am I right thinking there are skating lessons available in Camberley, can you tell me more as im serious about getting back into the skating and pushing myself, but im doing it alone so im a bit shy!!

Best place to start on this website is the FAQ section - Lots of useful information
As you may have read our local session is in Camberley Arena AND they hire skates out so there is no excuse..you could come this Saturday if you feel like it! and give quads a go or even inlines they hire them all out
Hope to meet you soon.I\'llNEVERpostontheforums

I came across this website last week and have found it really useful and helpful. My name is Lindy and I live in Arborfield. I used to skate in my early teens (on the old quad skates) but have done nothing since. When I turned 35 last year I have decided I needed to get fit and because I used to enjoy skating so much when I was younger, decided to buy myself a pair of inline skates. However, I nearly broke my neck on my frst trip out and have found that I have completely lost any guts and nerve I had when I was younger! As a consequence, my inlines are sat in the cupboard along with all my other fitness equipment
I am hoping to build up the courage to come along to one of the lessons but I do feel very embarrassed that I can hardly stand up!!
My Son is really into skating. He is really good considering he has only started the past 9 months and plays loads of street hockey with his freinds. Thanks to the info from people on this forum, I have managed to find a local team where he can go and train/play.

I'm a new kid to the site too. Don't worry about the skating, it will come with practice. My friend is in the same position and could just about stand up but with the help of pads she can now skate forward
She feels the pads have given her more confidence as she is not worried about fallling. Just go to a flat carpark around dusk (in case you are worried about anyone seeing you) and skate or fall. Eventually there will be more skating and less falling
Don't give up though, great exercise.

I've been to two of the Saturday Camberley arena sessions a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd introduce myself on here.
I recently moved to Guildford from the north east and when I saw Camberley was so close on the map I remembered this site. I got my first 'proper' skates 4 years ago when I was staying in London for a bit and discovered Serpentine road in Hyde park. I've been skating on and off since then, and recently took up ice skating when the weather was bad.
Its great that there are groups like cskate around, I've hardly seen anyone else skating apart from in London, and have never really managed to get my friends interested in it.
Hopefully I'll go along to the later session tomorrow, and I'm quite tempted to give Goodwood a shot!
Terry.

Re:Introduce yourself! - 23:47 28 Jul 06Wow, so good to see so many new faces. I hope we continue to see more of you all. As you can see we are a very friendly group and always aim to have fun on skates whenever possible
