Re:Introduce yourself! - 10:03 23 Apr 08 Welcome Dogstar

I too would think that walking the dogs would be the hardest thing to do

You could probably do Goodwood now as once you start skating there is no need to stop on the track As Davie said, look at doing a Sunday stroll first as that is the easiest of the street skates.

Keep up the practice and see you at the arena soon

Re:Introduce yourself! - 12:46 23 Apr 08 Welcome Dogstar! Its great to see some other newbies on the site, I started skating with the C skate guys about a month ago and can't tell you how much I've improved, I can even skate backwards now!!!!!
Come along to the Saturday evening session, they really are a very friendly lot and are always happy to show you something, there are lots of walls to help with the stopping too!!
I try and do the Sunday stroll every week so when you've figured this stopping lark you're welcome to join me, it's a real giggle and a fab way of seeing London, it also really helps improve your skating too!!
Hope to see you on Saturday!!
Kirsti

Re:Introduce yourself! - 19:06 11 May 08 Thanks for all the welcomes. I currently am a member of Arun Skate Club and skate there on a Saturday evening. I'm getting so much better. Last night I managed to skate in total more than I sat out. But boy was it hot!! I'm getting really quite comfortable with my inlines and have even been down to the sea front and had a bit skate there 3 times this week.

I get a bit frustrated that my progress is slow but I guess the old adage Slow and Steady applies here.

Re:Introduce yourself! - 10:46 09 Aug 08 Hi People, I'm a newbie and signed up to find out more info on the Goodwood Marathon but feel myself getting sucked back into the world of skating. I've been out of skating for about 8 years now and finally got around to pulling my skates out the attic and refurbing them a couple of months ago. I'm an old skool Bauer boy from the mid eighties and started skating at the age of 14 and went through to the grand old age of 28 before hanging my Bauer Turbo 33's up. Bought some Solomon aggressive inlines but never really liked them so just stopped. I try to skate once a week now if my body allows and still love it. Looking forward to tomorrow like you would not believe and S/Sea skatepark week after (I live in Portsmouth) and up for a drive to Camberley to a roller disco

Bognore sea front? Undoubtedly one of the best stretches of traffic free skating in the south east.

If the Southsea Skate park disco is not happening, how about going down there for a Saturday evening skate? Pub one end and about 3 miles of smooth tarmac - apart from about 100 metres of concrete - weather permitting of course.

So were you part of the Simon Tiller era?
