Accommodation Eastbourne Extreme 2008 - 23:03 20 Jan 08
Hello everyone!
At the Cskate meeting I volunteered to arrange the accommodation for us to visit Eastbourne on the weekend of Eastbourne Extreme this year. I don't think anyone else was planning to sort this out already - let me know if I'm standing on any toes here...
Eastbourne Extreme is on the 19th and 20th of July this year. The website is here: http://www.eastbourneextreme.co.uk/
So, who would like accommodation?
I've spoken to the people at the Gladwyn Hotel today (where we traditionally stay), and they have most rooms available that weekend.
The prices per night for last year were:
£60 for a double/Twin (2 available) £80 for a Family Room (1 available)
That includes breakfast!
They may be able to move people around to make more space for us if we need it (they are opening another new hotel for next year) so we can all be together.
So, if you'd like a room let me know in this thread or PM me the following:
1 - Which nights you want to stay (Friday only, Saturday only or both). Most people previously have travelled down on Friday evening, and checked out on Sunday, but you can stay on just one of the nights if you want.
2 - What type of room(s) you want and who will be staying in what rooms.
Once I have a rough idea of numbers I'll let the hotel know and get confirmed prices. They said they can hold rooms on a preliminary basis for a while.
I don't want any money from anyone - we just pay the hotel direct individually when we check out.
Once I have all the requests in I'll call back the Gladwyn to reserve the rooms properly. Of course, if you prefer, you can just contact and reserve with the Gladwyn direct yourself.
If you're interested, let me know. We need to confirm and commit to bookings around end of June. We can change things around until then.
Please keep in mind that you are expected to pay for rooms that you reserve once confirmed whether you turn up or not. The Gladwyn say they lost out on business last year due to people from our group not turning up/turning up on the wrong nights. They let us off paying deposits because we are regulars, we don't want to abuse their trust!
