Goodwood and Black T-Shirts - 18:08 11 Aug 08 In my hurry to get started I forgot to get myself a T-Shirt! I got a white and grey one in grossly over sizes after the race but I like black.

What's the chance of a small, black Goodwood Marathon T-Shirt from anywhere?

Great race, fantastic day. Someone asked me how I was doing and I replied; I'm doing what I love, listening to my fav tunes and chatting to some great people. Nearly heaven on earth, apart from that wind!

Many thanks to the chap who turned around and came back to help me when my wheel came off on the second lap. I thought it was all over then, but he picked up my wheel, bearing and nut and even had a spanner. What a hero. Whoever you are, thank you. I did the whole 26 laps so it was worth it. Even my wife didn't think I'd do it.

Thanks to the sixty year old chap who really spurred me on during the final lap when the hill and wind were really wearing me down. Well done for finishing your race too. Sorry I missed your name. Perchance you are reading this; I might buy those inlines you have in your cupboard if you get in touch. Quads are hard work.

Hi DJChubby. We spurred each other on. Every time I found somebody to chat to going up that hill it really helped. I have never known wind like that there. So pleased for everybody who finished.

From what I remember while we were packing registration, there may have been one black shirt left but it was probably a large or XL size. Requires a response from Merry or Red. (not sure who transported them) Sapphire also seems to remember a black shirt or two remaining.

Re:Goodwood and Black T-Shirts - 20:24 12 Aug 08 For info, the wind speed coming down the hill, based on a nearby weather station was touching Force 7, which is called a moderate gale in nautical parlance (between 28 and 34 mph).
Bending into the wind and ducking behind others to pick up a tow worked well up that hill.
I was lucky to come across a lady with similar pace to myself; the blokes had all disappeared! We paired up and sharing the lead worked well.
