Goodwood Roller Marathon on Wikipedia - 01:37 08 Jan 09 In a moment of insanity I have just created a Wikipedia page for Goodwood Roller Marathon!!

Obviously we have to be very careful with Wikipedia pages, they are encyclopaedia pages and so should be as factual as possible, showing references where possible and not be sales/advertising pages at all.

Wikipedia pages can be deleted if the above is not followed but I wanted to post it here to encourage you all to go to it, check it, clean it up and add to it wherever possible.

Seriously, go edit! To quote from Wikipedia, "...perfection is not required. Do not worry about making mistakes. All prior versions of articles are kept, so there is no way that you can accidentally damage Wikipedia or irretrievably destroy content."

I am particularly interested in capturing the history of our event, especially the Barry Bridger years.
In Vauxhall for the roller disco. Impressive setup. Now it's time to get my groove on - Twitter Status

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon on Wikipedia - 17:06 08 Jan 09 Early history. For the 1st two years we went round clockwise. The drinks stop was a bottle of water and some cups at the side of the track - that is why I decided to get involved in that aspect of the event.

Year 3 saw the event used as the British Speed Skate marathon, so we switched to anti-clockwise skating, and have stayed that way ever since.

I am not sure, but I suspect my son Tom may be the youngest ever marathon finisher when he did it in 2003 aged 12.
