Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 07:06 03 Jul 09 Not an unreasonable request at all but I'm afraid the short answer is no.

Understood. I asked this on behalf of a quad skater.

I am glad you stressed the point about charity. Whenthe speed skaters held their championship marathon at Goodwood a few years ago, there were a few moans and groans from them (organisers not skaters) - so we pointed out that this was basically a charity event and they were simply a tag on to the event.

That is not a snipe at speed skaters by way. I think they are a very imporant part of Goodwood. I love the way they come past so quick (well I am going slow aren't I) and don't seem, to be working at all.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 08:55 03 Jul 09 I The longboarders have also asked as well as a request for trophies

As a longboarder, I'm not fussed whether there's a trophy or not. If we can hijack the podium for a couple of photos, I'll be happy.

Hope everything is going to plan.

Oh.... and could we have a warm up lap beforehand? My legs and bearings idealy need about five miles to get properly warmed up. If there's a Health and Safety problem, I would be happy to lead a group round and take a first aid kit. Whatever you want.

That'll be no problem Winnersh. If you want finish order for a particular group of entries, then hopefully Dogsbody should be able to extract them.

It's going very well. Have you seen the totals on the entry list?

We have Lycra and Fishnets this year.

We will discuss this at the next meeting. There are a few issues with opening the whole track, but we will see what we can organise.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 10:05 03 Jul 09 We'll see what we can do about a warm up, would it be a problem if we did what we did last year and have a half mile (ish) stretch for you all to warm up on? In Vauxhall for the roller disco. Impressive setup. Now it's time to get my groove on - Twitter Status

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 10:20 03 Jul 09 Whole track please. It's good to warm the mind up too (Seeing the corners, straights, sensing the conditions). Not that I'm competitive.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 20:03 03 Jul 09 We'll see what we can do. Is I see it, it means we would have to stop people warming up 20 mins earlier though to make sure everyone was back to the start for the saftey briefing!? In Vauxhall for the roller disco. Impressive setup. Now it's time to get my groove on - Twitter Status

You cannot let them out round a live airfield without a safety briefing. Persons not at that briefing would have to be excluded from the track! Also we may need the St John's ambulance people available to comply with the track requirements. We could check this when we go down in a couple of weeks.
