There're some awesome films in the charts at the moment. How did I miss Ozombie? An Osama Bin Laden zombie movie! Or Strippers Vs Warewolves - Twitter Status

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 8th August 2010 - 13:03 01 Feb 10 Would it be okay to attach a trailer to my longboard and pull a 4 year old round for two laps? She doesn't roller skate... however the 7 year old will be..... as will her indoors. All the family this year.....

Trailer is similar to this:

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 8th August 2010 - 11:14 02 Feb 10 We have had baby jogger pushchair types before, however they have usually started an hour or so after the race begins, and the baby signed up in their own right for a two lap race as well as the parents who had signed-up for longer races / and or a 2 lap race themselves.

In essence, provided safety measures / precautions are followed, I don't think it will be a problem. we are after all a family event as well as a speed event. We can discuss in more detail nearer the time.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 8th August 2010 - 21:02 02 Feb 10 Sweet. Thank you. I'm more than happy to comply, stay out of the way of those 'eventing' and pay for all entrants. I'll let the 16-year-olds race this year.... it's all about endurance and fun/pain for me. Time is nothing - Distance is everthing.

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 8th August 2010 - 13:12 27 Mar 10 I've been looking for somewhere to train for the marathon. I've been in touch with Palmer Park in Reading as they have a velodrome and said can use it off-peak as long as nothing else is going on. Indicated Sundays would be my best bet. I've walked round it and where it starts to bank I was surprised at the gradient of the incline (was walking in flat boots at the time). I'm a novice skater and I can't work out the best way to handle the incline. I'd appreciate any advise and tips. Thanks

In my limited experience, most banked tracks have a flat surface at the bottom so unless you are going at blistering speeds you can stay on that surface.

Would love to try it out myself so if you go do let us know if we can join you

Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 8th August 2010 - 08:02 29 Mar 10 I've skated at Palmer Park Stadium and I have to say that I didn't enjoy it much. I live in Reading, but my training tends to take place at Dorney Lake, although apparently it's being a bit dug up at the moment what with some sort of event in 2012.

University is quite smooth and that's where I started. Got to watch out for security though, although they'll only tell you to leave.

Hi Kaz.

If you add yourself to the Goodwood Roller Marathon Mailing List, then you will be emailed as soon as registration opens.

I'm sure it will also be posted here on the forums shortly afterwards.
