Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 13:54 06 Apr 10 Dogsbody - thx for all this. Sounds to me as it would be best if one of us agrees to buy a couple of throw away BBQ trays (large ones if possible!) we'll be able to use them.
I'll probably aim to get there at about 11 - 11.30 ish and will be driving from Woking. If anyone wants a lift from near there I can do that, but I will only be doing about 12 hours - have to leave early I'm afraid to head off somewhere on Sun.
Looking forward to it though - should be a great event!

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 14:35 06 Apr 10 Hey guys! The weather forecast for the weekend is looking good! Just as well really as I did my own solo 24 hour skate last weekend and there was a stiff wind, heavy rain and even some hail!! So we are due good weather and the Met Office seem to think it's on the way for the weekend... WHOOP!

Other great news is that the onsite diner is going to open up for us for the full 24 hours so hot food and hot drinks will be available near the trackside throughout the event.

I was back at Dunsfold this week to check on a few things and it's probably worth mentioning that the camping area is a fair way from the track, over half a mile I would say down the main runway. Anyway just to let you know that getting to and from your BBQ will be a little bit of a skate but after all that's what we're there for!

Our total is £10,790 so far, so we're doing great! Please bring lots of money for the raffle, pictures of all the goodies up for grabs are on the website.

About lighting... bringing torches would be essential for the campsite but the track will be lit by the main runway lights during the night and I'm looking forward to seeing that.

Thanks for all your support and look forward to seeing you all on the track.
Don't forget to bring your signed disclaimers with you, it will speed things up a lot on the day.

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 19:43 06 Apr 10 Can we sleep in your tent too???... You are more than welcome to sleep in my tent however we won't get all nine of us in there at the same time! There are two bits so we could do boys & girls but there are only two girls! If you are planning on sleeping for more than an hour at a time then you may want to bring your own

(b) he wants to go via KFC on the way That could be classed as carb loading!

Other great news is that the onsite diner is going to open up for us for the full 24 hours so hot food and hot drinks will be available near the trackside throughout the event. That is awesome!! Remember to put a collection bucket there as you should get good donations from the change.

Your Mum and Dad are so sweet... Do we need to bring them a BBQ to cook on??? a couple of the disposable ones would work??? I spoke to them earlier and they are sorting themselves out for cooking stuff however I do ask that you please bring along your own food. That includes a plate and any cutlary and any other creature comforts you may want.

Anyone know what the weather is meant to be doing next weekend???How's this...

P.S. We will have Goodwood flyers and you may all want to wear your Goodwood T-shirts

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 20:01 06 Apr 10 Good idea about the change bucket Dan. I hope we'll all visit the diner a lot, they're opening specially, and staying up all night for us! ... unless it all goes very quiet when they might have a little kip, but I hope we can keep them busy! Private race track, all-night diner...
I love your weather report... can I borrow it??

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 13:42 08 Apr 10 Thx Merry,
I think I speak for everyone in saying we are all really looking forward to this now! Wouldn't you rather be joining us for a skate than painting?
Still - hope your painting goes well and thx for the support! We'll get some photos for you!
