Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 13:26 12 Apr 10 Just wanted to add a big thanks to all who organised the event - great fun even though I had to leave on the Sat night! Skating round the track in the dark was an experience not to be missed!
Hope you got a good sunrise!

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 14:33 12 Apr 10 For all those who were at Skaiti, I'd like to take a moment to ask you all an important question...

"Are you in a hot air balloon?"

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 10:27 13 Apr 10 I tried to find a bright headtorch, but gave-up as I knew I'd never find one as big as Rich's (see I got your name right !! )

I did buy one that is 50 lumens ??? spelling??? LOL

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 10:40 13 Apr 10 I had 200 lumens and Tom had 700. I thought his was way too bright and removed the "night skating" element. For the most part we skated with my head torch - £2.99 from Wilkinsons

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 10:48 13 Apr 10 For those who are even vaguely interested, the small fusion reactor strapped to my head was this:

It's slightly overkill for skating and I mainly use it for mountain biking at night when you really need to see as much of the trail as possible =)

That's what Tom uses his for - not so much shining your way through the trees as burning your way through

Re:24hr Top Gear Ultraskate - April 10/11 - 12:19 13 Apr 10 I didn't use any lights at all and loved it! The runways lights gave you all the info you needed as to where to turn and the tarmac was so smooth. Loved it RT @ApproachMarket: http://t.co/qyzE2xGf Fake Rhino attempts zoo escape video thanks to @dogsbodyorg at #crowthornejelly - Twitter Status
