Routes to Eastbourne! - 22:31 12 Jul 05 Hi Folks,
i have my own (secret) route to Eastbourne, but does everyone who is going know the way there?

thought this would be a good place to put routes down for those who are going for the first time (Eastbourne virgins?!)

Re:Routes to Eastbourne! - 22:54 12 Jul 05 I was thinking (it does happen!)...
  1. A331 (Blackwater Valley Road)
  2. A31 (Hogs Back)
  3. A3
  4. M25
  5. A22 all the way down
...good?? bad??

Map of the area

Hm - Dull, I don't think so.... insane maybe, but not dull.

... as far as my route down, I'll be following whatever instructions I hear from the little voice in my dashboard "honestly officer, it told me to ignore the red lights"
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing

Re:Routes to Eastbourne! - 23:37 13 Jul 05 Hmm?
s'ppose i better let my route be known,
'tis a nice ride in the country (cue Cliff and Summer Holidays!)

what me, sing in the car? never!!

oh yes, the route;

from Bagshot; A30 to A322, then A3, leaving at Milford, joining A283 to
Petworth.
then A272 to Piltdown, and join A22 to Eastbourne.
simple drive on country roads & loads of bends to keep you alert!
the odd village on the way for snacks and a paper, or just to rest.

most people will not take this route, but after a time motorway driving becomes extremely tedious, and not neccessarily quicker, i think i took less time than most getting to Eastbourne last year.

Happy travelling whichever way you choose, but don't follow me because i quite often change my routes mid journey for the hell of it!
