Will have to have a look at the bearings later, the box is somewhere at the back of my wardrobe
Still grinning from an awesome @LondonSkate last night :-D Such a party atmosphere - Twitter Status

Re:Wet weather skating - 19:47 26 Sep 10 I was using WAY too much force to get them out. I killed three of them.

Re:Wet weather skating - 07:15 27 Sep 10 Doh!
Have you got 'the technique' sorted now then? Although I've got no idea how you managed to kill them... I usually go with a sort of twisting motion to get them out. Hans has a spangly machine that does it, which is quite cool, but rather bulky.

Re:Wet weather skating - 10:36 27 Sep 10 Tom you must have really forced them to kill them. I don't know how you destroyed them. Is it because you pushed/hammered from the inside through the centre of the other bearing and damaged the seals?

I use one of these to remove bearings. Being Salomon they are no longer available but I think there may be similar ones around.

Edit:-
Found Powerslide Ergonomic Hex Tool from Proline Skates.
End edit

As for bearings, if you want the Bont bearings then I think here is the UK agent.

Re:Wet weather skating - 10:55 27 Sep 10 It wasn't so much the force, but I was using an allen key at an angle to sort of jam them out, and and accidental levered against the face of the bearing which dented it, did this several times

edit, thanks very much for the link to the bont stuff :-D

Re:Wet weather skating - 11:09 27 Sep 10 If you can remove the seal (dressmakers pin required for the clip), then you could get away with leaving the seal off the face of the bearing which is inside the skate. In fact some bearings are supplied with only one seal. Twincam ILQ-Pro
