Re:what skate to buy? - 21:08 22 Sep 10 Hi Sam

Have you tried them on??

I spent ages trying skates on before I decided which pair I liked and I didn't end up with the ones I had originally thought I wanted.
Take a trip up to Club Blue Room in London. They are really helpful and with the cost of skates its worth trying lots of different pairs on before you buy.

Re:what skate to buy? - 00:56 23 Sep 10 I totally agree with what Vix says.

To answer your question regarding the skates. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. I believe Max (UK slalom champion) wore them for a while.

Re:what skate to buy? - 07:50 23 Sep 10 The only thing I'd add is that the different manufacturers all seem to have a differnet idea of a normal foot, so you might find that Roces generally don't fit your foot, while rollerblade (for example) do.

As the guys say, it's pretty much vital to try them on first.

Re:what skate to buy? - 09:08 23 Sep 10 DB has to agree with me 'cos he made me try on loads of pairs in CBR last year! In lots of different sizes too! Poor girl in the shop, i felt sorry for her with me and Red both trying them on together.

Does anyone know if CBR stocks Derby skates????

Re:what skate to buy? - 09:30 23 Sep 10 Agree with everything stated so far. As well as different foot shapes from different manufacturers, the size of the skate often bears little resemblance to normal shoe size. Another good reason to try them for fit.

I don't know these skates at all. There are a few comments about them if you google around. Generally they look pretty fit for purpose as a freeskate but appear to lack the frame to boot lateral and longitudinal adjustment to adjust balance offered by most modern freeskates. The Hyper Concrete wheels supplied are certainly well favoured quality wheels.

You haven't really said what type of skating you do. I presume from the choice of this skate you are looking at a general outdoor/indoor freeskate. If so, other options may be Seba, some of the Rollerblade range, or Powerslides.

Re:what skate to buy? - 18:57 23 Sep 10 For local shops you are out of luck

The three best (in my opinion) for Freeskates are
- Proline in Cardiff
- Loco Skates in Eastbourne
- Club Blue Room in London
