Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 18:35 17 Jun 05 hmm... after trying lemmings skates on I think the problem with my skating is actually my skates...So I don't think I'm going to be making this one. But what time are people going/getting there anyway just in case I change my mind? :: In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey
:: Butane in my veins and I’m out to cut the junkie

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 19:49 17 Jun 05 I was going to drive in the end. I aim to be on the road by 9:30. Ruff said that it was an hour and half and while it starts at 11:00 nothing is actually starting till 12:00 and my workshop isn't till 13:00.

I have pretty much decided that I'm not doing the street skate in the evening (it's supposed to be a slow one anyway) so I'll be leaving when it finishes at 17:00... I may even get home for Doctor Who

I haven't decided on Sunday yet, was gonna see what tomorrow is like, I may take the opportunity to make all the changes to cskate that I have been meaning to!

P.S. Shout if anyone wants a lift

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 22:13 18 Jun 05 Hope you had a good race padrino!

well todays events were excellent, some great slalom talant on show, some newbies arrived for lessons, and the high jump competition was amazing! highest was 2.5metres jumping on quads!! had to be seen to be believed!

tomorow we have a half marathon, Marathon, dancing and a dance competition, speed slalom, tug of war and Hockey classes.oh and some slide contests, did some decent slides today, wheels getting a bit small though.

thanks Dogsbody for taking me and for Merry who put up with us all day

good to see Hans and Farhana there, and Lemmings up on Sunday, see you all next week!

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 12:05 19 Jun 05 A brilliant day even if I am a bit red today. The "how to skate faster lesson" was brilliant and as Drakey says the high jump was just amazing!

I would hightly recommend this to people that want to do it next year.

padrino, how did the race go?

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 17:08 19 Jun 05 Yep agree - I would highly recommend this event for anyone - Skaters and non skaters - Its amazing to watch.....Hence why I had my skates on for about 20 minutes the whole 6 1/2 hours we were there and the time flew by (I have the Red nose and shoulders to prove it )

A Brillient Day out - Thanks Dogsbody for driving and Both Drakey and Dogsbody for keeping me company
I\'ll NEVER post on the forums

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 21:21 19 Jun 05 weather was scorching today, when i left it was 36 degrees in Stratford!!

have to give a big hand to all the marathon and half marathon contestants!
this was not a pleasent day to skate on those hills!

good to see Hans, Farhana, and Lemming taking part.

the sliding competition was excellent, and the speed slalom was fast, Darren you really should have been there!

i got "roped" into the Skate Patrol tug of war team, we did pretty well, beat all comers untill we were competing against the IFSA judges in the Final, so a second was quite respectable!

now very red but cooling down with a beer!
it will happen again next year, and we need more home talant to enter the IFSA events, otherwise i'll have to learn French or Russian!

Re:Skatelondon 2005 - 21:22 19 Jun 05 Great day. Nice to take part in the half, but nicer to watch the full marathon. The guy who won lapped EVERYONE at least twice.

Big cheer to HAns (Ruff) who got a podium in the National race.

Me, I managed the half in just over an hour, including a bit of a tumble (Actually, I'm not totally sure if I finished and may only have done 12 laps, but what the hell...). Do not follow the link if you're squeamish...
